Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Maintenance Technician for our fantastic client, a leading food and drink manufacturer, proudly supplying top retail chains with high-quality products. Multiple full-time night shift openings located in Stephenson County in Northern Illinois, are available for immediate hire.
The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring seamless operations at a state-of-the-art facility. This position supports advanced food production systems by performing preventative maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs. Technicians collaborate closely with operations, quality, and engineering teams to sustain the production of shelf-stable dips, sauces, beverages, and aerosol cheese products across a 290,000-square-foot, highly automated plant. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented problem-solvers who take pride in their work, value team collaboration, and thrive in a fast-paced, continuously evolving manufacturing setting.

This dynamic full-time opportunity offers a competitive wage of $26 - $34/hour (DOE), plus an additional $2/hour for the night shift. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of production and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automated systems across the facility.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and ensure efficiency.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Support installation of new equipment and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain detailed documentation on maintenance activities and repairs.
- Assist in training new maintenance staff and contributing to team knowledge sharing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing maintenance role; food/beverage industry preferred.
- Familiarity with automated systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and equipment repair.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, tools, and mechanical/electrical systems.
- Comfortable working in a physical environment, including lifting 40+ lbs. and navigating plant floors.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including different shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced production setting.
