Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a AI Platform Engineer Lead for a highly respected, technology-forward financial services organization focused on advancing enterprise AI capabilities. This is a direct hire hybrid position (4 days onsite) based in New York, NY.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our client is a growing, innovation-focused firm investing heavily in the expansion of applied AI across business and investment operations. This role will serve as a senior hands-on technical leader responsible for designing, scaling, and deploying AI-driven solutions that create measurable impact across teams. The position combines deep engineering ownership with strategic collaboration, working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to expand firmwide AI capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for applied AI and agentic systems across the organization
- Design, build, and deploy LLM-based products that support business and investment workflows
- Architect and implement agentic AI systems to enable multi-step reasoning, planning, and automation
- Develop and maintain integration layers connecting AI agents with internal data, APIs, and enterprise tools
- Partner with portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, and cross-functional teams to identify high-impact AI opportunities
- Establish engineering best practices for model evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and responsible AI usage
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership and knowledge sharing across teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying production AI or machine learning systems
- Proven experience developing and operating production-grade LLM applications and agentic systems
- Strong Python engineering skills with experience in microservices and REST API development
- Experience designing and building agentic systems is required, including hands-on work with AI frameworks and modern AI design patterns, that enable multi-step reasoning, planning, and tool execution in production environments is a must.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Prior experience within financial services environments a must
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
