Scion Technical has been engaged to conduct a search for a Remote Senior Developer on behalf of an amazing, successful and innovative company headquartered in the Greater Seattle Area. Our client has built out a highly agile learning management system within the ecommerce industry and has a new product they are very excited to launch. This position would be ideal for someone who is passionate about educational technology, learning management systems and bringing a new product to life!

In this role you will be building out a small team of developers and will be working on the full-stack. Everything from working on the back-end, to solving server scaling issues, to fixing front-end components. This position requires a senior developer who is passionate enough to learn at a fast pace. Most of your work will be done on our client’s website, which is built in React, Node.js, and DynamoDB.

Our client is a remote company located in the Seattle area.

What you will be doing:

  • Overseeing, executing and maintaining mobile and web application products utilizing NodeJS, React, JavaScript in a cloud-based environment (AWS).

  • Building out and managing a small team of engineers to create a highly innovative product.

  • Managing our client’s vendor contacts and 3rd party developers to lead the development of our client’s new web and mobile application products.

  • Ensuring team adheres to product roadmaps and sprints.

  • Working alongside product managers to deliver execution of feature changes, updates, etc.

  • Organizing overall product workflow process, planning management and QA.

  • Managing monthly and annual technical budget.

  • Overseeing the launch of our clients new mobile and web application products.

What you will need:

  • At least 5+ years of software development experience

  • 4+ years of experience in managing technical teams

  • Experience with NodeJS and React

  • Experience deploying to a cloud-based environment (AWS/G-Cloud/Azure etc)

  • Experience building out REST APIs

  • NoSQL experience preferred not required

  • Proven experience in leading the development of mobile and or web application products

  • Passion for e-learning products! Experience within this industry is a huge bonus!

  • Incredible communication skills and the ability to clearly organize workflows across remote teams
