Scion Nonprofit is excited to announce an immediate search for an experienced Creative Director-Graphic Design for our client, a political nonprofit dedicated to developing and promoting the Republican brand, political platform, and election strategy. This strategic leadership opportunity can make a real impact on a strong national defense, a smaller, more accountable government, economic growth and opportunity, and the dignity of life and traditional values. This full-time position is a direct placement opportunity for immediate hire. This Creative Director-Graphic Design leaders is needed onsite with the team daily in Washington, D.C., on First Street SE, conveniently located beside the Capital South Station.

 

The Role: The Creative Director is responsible for leading a team of 3 Graphic Designers, implementing a creative vision, and becoming the point of reference for any graphic design and branding needs within this nonprofit and its external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be able to set the overall design direction and uphold brand integrity.

The role includes managing all design assets, overseeing a team of graphic designers, maintaining working relationships with other departments and external stakeholders, and providing creative guidance to designers, empowering them to convey the Republican Party's mission and vision visually.

The Creative Director is a member of the Digital Leadership Team and will report directly to the Chief Digital Officer.


Responsibilities:

  • Motivate a team of illustrators, animators, art directors, and other designers to make the most of their time and talents.
  • Recruit and train talent to expand the abilities of the Creative Team and increase staff engagement.
  • Establish concepts, guidelines, and strategies across various creative projects, overseeing their timely completion and ensuring they are consistent with the brand.
  • Leads brainstorming/creative team meetings, generate ideas, and provides feedback.
  • Monitor various short- and long-term design projects and deliverables, including display advertising variants, organic social graphics, branding projects, long-form reports, event collateral, animated artwork, and other digital or print collateral.
  • Manage the Creative Team's workload, meet deadlines, and create a process that can be easily followed by other members of the Digital Team, as well as external stakeholders.
  • Establish a process so the Creative Team can quickly design and implement creative solutions for campaigns centered on breaking news and other fast-paced events.


Requirements:

  • 4+ years of graphic design or related experience preferred.
  • Passion for our mission to elect Republican candidates up and down the ballot.
  • Proven experience as a creative director or in a similar creative role.
  • Experience managing creative projects, implementing marketing campaigns, creating brand strategies, or related graphic design experience.
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
  • Understanding performance marketing and using data and insights to improve creative output.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

 

Compensation & Benefits:
