Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced IT Systems Engineer for our client, a wonderful renewable energy organization in Oakland, CA! In this role, you’ll work with the IT team to provide top level support to networks, systems, and users. This is a full time, direct hire, hybrid (2 days a week onsite) role!

- Compensation range is $120k+, depending on experience
What you will be doing:
- Oversee Cloud infrastructure (Azure) including design, development, configuration, deployment of virtual machines/networks, and using containerization technologies
- Develop and enhance automation scripts using PowerShell, Linux Shell, and Python
- Ensure all physical and virtual IT systems are optimized, monitored, supported, secure and in compliance with policies and best practices
- Troubleshoot issues; perform root cause analysis, reactively and proactively support and resolve issues, with managed services partners/vendors
- Create documentation for all corporate hardware, software, services, and infrastructure
- Implement software and deploy hardware as needed
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT related field preferred
- Expertise in managing IT Systems in an MSP environment
- Experience supporting cloud technology infrastructure; Azure preferred, AWS or GCP is ok)
- Experience with virtual systems, containers, and sandbox environments
- Expertise with troubleshooting and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Linux Shell)
- Experience with Security, including mitigating threats, user training, penetration testing
- Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls routers, switches, etc)
