Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Director of IT for our client, an art museum in Chicago, IL!

This hands-on director will lead a team of 3 including a Systems Administrator and 2 IT Technicians in the overall strategy and maintenance of all application information systems.

What you will be doing:

• Develop, implement, and monitor policies that govern technology assets and investments
• Ensure that technology policies align with the museum’s strategic objectives
• Develop, implement, and execute technology solutions that ensure the museum’s confidential data meets or exceeds appropriate NIST security frameworks
• Liaise with other departments, determining and addressing institutional technology needs and requirements
• Evaluate risk and develop technology business continuity and disaster recovery plans in conjunction with the Deputy Director and Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer
• Develop and maintain technology infrastructure, including network, servers, cloud-based and other system, email server and exchange, telephones, contracts, equipment, software, and systems
• Participate and collaborate as a high performing Department Head providing input and counsel for decisions affecting the MCA’s annual and long-term operating plans, including the strategic action plans, program priorities, capital needs, and human and financial resources
• Supervise, mentor, train, and oversee direct reports on a day-to-day basis, including oversight of special projects and staff management to ensure the effective and efficient operation of all assigned activities and responsibilities and accountability for results; facilitate strong performance and achievement of key metrics; and provide on-going feedback to assigned direct reports to address, resolve, and/or encourage performance and/or engagement-related matters
• In collaboration with Operations Division Department Heads, participate in the development and implementation of an institution-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan
• Develop and maintain an IT Service catalog and ensure that information technology staff and vendors meet and exceed annual performance metrics
• Develop, implement, document, and maintain standards and policies for hardware, software, network security, telecommunications, software development, internet, and intranet services; periodically evaluate technology policies, procedure, and protocols and make recommendations for revisions as necessary to ensure compliance with all applicable laws; maintain inventory of all museum technology and develop procedures to prevent against misuse and theft

What you will need:

• 5+ years of experience in Information Technology leadership
• Prior experience installing and maintaining: Microsoft Windows server OS, MS Exchange, MS Office Suite, Active Directory, Symantec Backup Exec, network security, and PCI Compliancy, as well as familiarity with Apple products and related support
