Scion Nonprofit Staffing, is searching for an Inventory Associate on behalf of an impactful historical preservation nonprofit organization in Washington DC! This is a direct hire opportunity offering an annual salary, robust benefits package, and a full-time onsite work schedule.

The Inventory Associate is responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks including store inventory management and loss prevention duties, traveling to conferences and providing support to volunteers for off-sites sales as well as team leadership support to staff!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage inventory including:
    • Maintain knowledge of materials and products.
    • Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are in-stock as needed.
    • Prepare and conduct physical inventory.
  • Coordinate tasks and provide input to the website and store sites, including:
    • add or the remove item sold on the ecommerce site
    • submit new items for images, verify/revise pricing, and descriptions.
  • Coordinate order processing with in-house engraver, seamstresses and manufacturers.
  • Receive inventory, reconcile vendor invoices, and process vendor returns.
  • Manage repair, hand-engraving, upgrade, and trade in processes.
  • Create max/min levels for key inventory.
  • Manage inventory levels and make recommendation on new orders and ensure proper stock position.
  • Write POs as directed by the Director.
  • Minimize out-of-stock merchandise and identify excess and phased-out merchandise.
  • Coordinate/support supply chain vendor operations.
  • Process refund requests for all sales channels.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Store Director or the Administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience serving as team lead or key holder in a retail and/or e-commerce customer focused environment.
  • Direct experience with POS systems and e-commerce platforms.
  • Experience in a customer order processing and fulfillment environment.
  • Experience with retail business inventory management and loss prevention practices.
  • Strong computer skills with good working knowledge of MS Office and spreadsheet software.
  • Highly proficient using inventory/order management and POS system software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to read/listen process and respond quickly to customer requests or questions.
  • Ability to accurately proofread orders, and other materials and documents.
  • Well-developed organizational and prioritization skills for use in managing inventory and categorizing items or requests.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.  
  • Strong organizational skills for use in categorizing items or requests. 
  • Manual dexterity required operating computer and office equipment. 
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching involved in completing inventory and processing walk-in sales orders.  
  • Manual dexterity to assemble and pack outgoing merchandise/materials and open incoming mail or packages.

COMPENSATION & CAREER BENEFITS:
